Should I get a professional teeth cleaning?
No matter if you maintain a perfect oral hygiene routine at home, it is still essential to receive dental cleanings at least twice every year. At ACE Dental of Taylor, we perform professional dental cleanings (prophylaxis) as preventive dentistry treatments in order to get rid of built-up tartar and plaque in addition to polishing the enamel for an overall healthier, more beautiful smile. Throughout your teeth cleaning treatment, our team of dental hygienists can also provide tips on the best ways to preserve oral hygiene at home. For the majority of patients, a dental exam may also be provided at your dental cleaning to determine any problems in your smile that may necessitate treatment. Oral Hygiene at home
Sticking to a proper oral hygiene routine is essential to your dental health, smile, and overall wellness. The complete health of your mouth can have a considerable effect on other areas of your life, such as your systemic well-being. Through keeping your gums and teeth healthy with regular brushing and flossing, you can help to maintain the health of your smile and reduce your chances of contracting oral diseases, such as tooth decay (cavities) and periodontal (gum) disease. During your dental cleaning appointment, a member of our team will help you curate a proper at-home oral hygiene routine to keep your smile beautiful and healthy.
Dental Cleaning Reviews
"Excellent all the way around. Doctor and All Staff are extremely friendly, professional, and thoroughly efficient. This visit was for my daughter and I was very impressed with the doctor as she included me in everything and showed me issues inside my daughter's mouth as well as on screen xrays. My daughter's dental treatment plan was assessed and quickly setup and her first treatment scheduled. The doctor took special care of an issue right there and I couldn't help but give her a hug. I will be scheduling my own dental cleaning as soon as possible and also get my free whitening!! Thanks again!!!!"- T.H. / Facebook / May 24, 2016
"I went in with a disintegrating upper molar and I was expecting the worse since I have no dental insurance. They discovered the other 10 cavities in my mouth and created a plan to fix those cavities before they broke apart like my molar. This became 10 fillings and a tooth extraction. I was expecting to pay over $2000 for all of that but the price of all of that was around 50% of that price. I'm definitely going back for dental implants and continued cleanings from Ace."- P.G. / Facebook / Jul 02, 2017
"I recently came in as a new patient with my husband and both of our kids, 2 and 1 year old. They saw all 4 of us at the same time. They were so sweet and understanding with fussy grumpy kids. They were so non judgemental. They even helped entertain our kids to keep them calm while we took turns getting seen. I highly recommend this dentist's office. Especially if you have anxiety about dentists like i do. They are so accommodating to our needs and go above and beyond. They are very reasonably priced and let you do payment plans. They can do all of your work in one visit. I came in for my initial visit and they offered to do the xrays, cleaning, fillings and mold for the whitening trays all in that visit. So convenient!"- B.W. / Facebook / Feb 25, 2017

Who should have a professional teeth cleaning?
Every member of your family, no matter their age, should receive routine dental cleanings to preserve healthy teeth and gums. According to the American Dental Association (ADA), individuals should schedule dental cleanings at a rate determined by their dental care professional. It is also recommended that infants should receive their initial dental exam prior to their first birthday. Following their first exam, the ACE Dental of Taylor team can help you in identifying when your child is old enough for their follow-up appointments. Regular dental cleanings get rid of plaque, tartar, and harmful bacteria, lowing your risk for oral diseases. In addition to health advantages, a dental cleaning also eliminates surface stains to allow you to experience a brighter smile.
What can I expect during my teeth cleaning?
During your dental cleaning, our team of dental professionals will carefully remove tartar and plaque deposits from your smile. In order to eliminate this buildup, advanced instruments will be used without impacting the enamel of your teeth. Ultrasonic devices, which combine high-speed vibrations and a water-based mist, may also be utilized to dislodge bigger areas of plaque and tartar. Additionally, hand instruments, including a scaler or curette, will then be utilized to fine-scale smaller areas. After every tooth has been treated, we will polish your enamel to eliminate surface stains. Our hygiene team will work with you to curate a regular oral hygiene routine at home and recommend products that will focus on your concerns and needs.
What should I do after teeth cleaning?
If you have had your teeth cleaned, a member of our dental team will conduct a dental exam to look at your oral health. Additionally, a fluoride treatment could also be performed as a cavity prevention measure. After your dental cleaning and exam, a member of our team will help you to schedule your following appointment at ACE Dental of Taylor. For some patients, dental cleanings could be suggested more frequently than twice a year if you have additional dental health issues, including gum disease or are receiving orthodontic care.
what is the cost for Prophylaxis?
Since a dental cleaning is considered a preventive dentistry service, it is frequently covered on a biannual basis by the majority of dental insurance plans. Prior to your visit, our financial specialist will reach out to your dental insurance provider to better understand your coverage and benefits. For patients who do not have dental insurance, we encourage that you talk to our ACE Dental of Taylor team to discover more about the many payment options we accept at our practice.
