What Are the Benefits of Veneers?
Dental veneers are a highly cosmetic option for transforming the look of stained, chipped, or otherwise flawed teeth into a more attractive, uniform smile. At ACE Dental of Taylor, our general dentists customize these thin, shell-like restorations from natural-looking composite resin or porcelain material, which are then bonded to the front teeth. Cosmetic veneers may address a wide variety of smile concerns and can efficiently enhance the color, size, shape, and length of individual teeth to meet the unique aesthetic goals of our patients. Talk to the talented dentists at our Taylor, TX facility, and discover if custom porcelain or resin veneers can refresh the look and confidence of your smile!

Are Dental Veneers Right for You?
As a popular cosmetic dentistry option, veneers can be helpful for masking a wide array of smile issues, such as stained or chipped teeth. These restorations may also improve the look of slightly crooked or worn down teeth and add an attractive appeal to teeth that are oddly shaped or spaced. Veneers may also help to improve oral function in some cases, such as by repairing broken front teeth. The team at ACE Dental of Taylor customizes resin or porcelain veneers to fit evenly within the smile line to generate an attractive, natural-looking grin. Veneers are commonly placed in pairs to achieve proper balance for the smile and work best in the absence of gum disease, cavities, and bruxism (teeth grinding) habits.
What Is the Treatment Process?
Chairside Resin Veneers: With composite veneers, our dentists will prepare the designated teeth, which might include removing a very thin layer of enamel. A shade of composite resin material that matches the color of your tooth enamel will be applied to the front surfaces of the teeth. After the material is sculpted to the ideal shape and size, it will be set (cured) and polished for a natural feel and finish. Since composite resin veneers are created chairside rather than in a dental lab, these restorations can often be completed in one dental visit.
Porcelain Veneers: The porcelain veneers process typically takes two appointments to complete. To begin, our team will take a small layer of enamel from each tooth, which makes space for the veneers to fit evenly within the dental arch. An iTero digital impression of the teeth will then be captured and forwarded to a dental lab, which is where your custom porcelain veneers will be made. In the meantime, you will wear a set of temporary veneers to maintain the look and function of your smile. You will return to our office for a second visit about 1 – 2 weeks later to have the temporaries removed and your porcelain veneers bonded to your teeth.
Caring for Your Veneers
It is common for teeth to be sensitive to hot and cold temperatures for a few days after the veneer treatment process, but that should subside naturally. Porcelain and resin veneers should be brushed and flossed just as if they were natural tooth structures. Though some types of veneers are more stain-resistant, it is still a good idea to keep the consumption of beverages or foods that may cause staining to a minimum. We also encourage you to avoid biting into hard objects, like pens or your fingernails, to help keep your veneers from chipping. When you visit ACE Dental of Taylor for routine dental visits, our dentists will check your veneers, as well as the health of your underlying teeth.
Insurance Coverage for Your Care
As an aesthetic dentistry procedure, dental veneers are typically not a benefit covered under most dental insurance plans. Nonetheless, the team at ACE Dental of Taylor wants you to achieve the smile you have always wanted. To help place your dream smile within reach, we are pleased to accept a selection of affordable payment methods and will be happy to assist you in exploring flexible financing options.
